Denis Lakey is a leading opera and concert singer of his generation. His most important stage roles include those of the baroque, romantic, Viennese operetta and comtemporary music such as Handel's Giulio Cesare, Hänsel (Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel for adults in the acclaimed production by Giancarlo del Monaco), Prinz Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) and Patera in the world premiere of the opera Die andere Seite by Michael Obst. He has appeared in countless German theatres among them: Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Theater Ulm, Markgräfliches Opernhaus Bayreuth, Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, Theater Magdeburg, also in Salzburg, Vienna, Rome, Budapest, London, Buenos Aires and in Bolivia. In 2014 he sang Sino in the world premier of GEORGE by Elena Kats-Chernin in Herrenhausen, Wolfenbüttel, Hildesheim and Celle, in 2015 Poro (Alessandro nell'Indie – Galuppi) in Würzburg, the title role in Handel's Arminio at the Nordharzer Städtebundtheater and Melissa (Ruggiero) for the Brighton Early Music Fetival. 2016/2017He sang Prinz Orlofsky (Fledermaus) at the Nordharzer Städtebundtheater and Patera in the first Austrian performance of Die andere Seite at the State Opera in Linz. In  2018 Denis Lakey performed the roles of Almira Gulch and the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and is at present singing Ernesto in a new German version of Haydn's Die Welt auf dem Monde (Il Mondo della Luna) at the Nordharzer Städtebundtheater.
